God Told Me Not To Appoint The Next Tor Tiv - Gov. Ortom

The Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom has said that God spoke to him in the place of prayer and asked him not to influence the appointment or selection of the next Tor Tiv or any traditional ruler in the state.

Ortom stated this on Sunday, October 16, at the Redeemed Christian Church Of God, Ankpa Road, Makurdi.

He said, "I have prayed and God has told me to stay off the appointment of traditional rulers.

"I have signed the chieftaincy law passed by the Assembly into law we have vacant traditional stools including the Tor Tiv.

"I am not going to interfere into selection/Appointment of Tor Tiv or any Traditional ruler and no one will influence the process. It's going to be fair and transparent.

"We have declared Fasting and prayer to that effect to clear the notion from our people that traditional stool is anchored on witchcraft," he said.
